The 9Lives is a manga written by Bayou and Rachel Manija Brown, with Bayou as the original creator. It was published by Tokyopop and released in October 8th 2008. Based on Bayou's likeness toward cats, she created cat-like people who literally have 9 lives.

You might find other cat boys in other stories, but the 9Lives gives you a whole new set of cat boy concept.

Alien refugees have come to Earth. They call themselves 9-Lives. Humans call them cat-boys, and force them to live as collared pets. Conri, a rebellious young 9-Life, ran away to escape his fate.

But when a human named Adrian saves him from capture, Conri is torn between his desire for freedom and another desire he can't quite admit, even to himself...

Can two people meet as equals in a world divided between masters and slaves?
